THE SPOTLIGHT IS NOW ON AMERICA'S SOUTHERN BORDER

There is no doubt in my mind that the Mexican gangs and drug cartels are planning attacks, just as The Sierra Times has warned. They
cannot tolerate the fact that some of the money may not be going into their coffers quite so fast and that they may lose some of the precious "cargo" they are bringing into our country.
I know from experience how very deadly, calculating, and uncaring these people are about human life and the laws of our land. It has been known for a long time they have had calls out for United States federal law enforcement officers, dead or alive.
On August 9, 2002, we felt the blaze of one of their bullets. It ripped into the body of my son, Kristopher William Eggle, a federal law enforcement
officer stationed at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, which is right on that famous border (non-border). He was ambushed and murdered on American soil by a hired assassin for a drug cartel. This killer had no feelings about what he did to Kris. He had every intention of using that AK -47 on someone that day and Kris happened to be the target he picked out.
Our government needs to finally take a stand for what is right for us, the American citizens. It is too late for my son, but maybe there is a chance to save others. There already is a BORDER WAR happening, even though no one is addressing it that way.
Chris Simcox and his group are trying to make the people of America sit up and take notice that it is time now for ACTION. Otherwise, we lose and the Mexican crime elements will surely win one more time. We are a much greater country than we appear to be to the outside world. Do we want to be looked upon as cowards, or respected for our strength that once made us the greatest country in the world?
The Coyotes have been intensifying their threats and attacks against U.S. law enforce- ment officers throughout the last year or so because our people have been putting the "heat" on their crimes of transporting weapons and drugs, people-smuggling, and who knows what else. More arrests were made and still are being made, and they are feeling the pressure from the kingpins on the southern side of the border.
Decisions must be made and carried out quickly. I know my son believed in the laws of our land. He laid his life down trying to protect America and the people (U.S. citizens) who rightfully live here. Will his death be in vain and forgotten because someone didn't care enough? I certainly hope not.
The spotlight is now on the border of the U.S.A. and Mexico, and the soldiers of our past are rising up and saying, "Remember what we gave up to give you these freedoms. Please do not forsake us now."
