MORE SUSPICIOUS OF LEFTWING LIBERAL ANTIWAR
ACTIVISTS THAN OF SADDAM HUSSEIN
By Marti Stapp
Some people say America has no right to strike at any nation that threatens us. We must do nothing to stop a murderous despot who attacks his neighbors and gasses, tortures, and murders his own citizens. If we try to stop Saddam Hussein (even though we have proof that he is hiding weapons of mass destruction), we will be considered more evil than he is. America must passively ignore the first-hand reports of the Iraqi scientists who escaped his murderous clutches.
Some people say it's possible to contain Saddam Hussein. They maintain this attitude despite knowing France, Germany, and Russia are so eager for Saddam's oil money they will ignore any embargo. They also know Saddam is eager to disperse chemical and biological weapons to kill us on our own soil, but they believe we must await his next move. They choose to ignore the fact that Saddam pays the families of murderer-bomb- ers $25,000 dollars, which is a fortune in that part of the world. It doesn't matter to them.
Saddam gives known terrorists shelter, medical care and a place to train to kill us, but we must not stop him because he needs "more time." Twelve years is not long enough. We are not patient enough. We must give his aggressive designs against the Mideast (especially Israel) and America a chance to thrive.
Some people who don't want us to interdict another 9-11 chant "Give peace a chance." They wave posters comparing President Bush to Hitler. Their leaders preach hatred for Jews, hatred for White people, and class warfare as their "peaceful" audience applauds. They wave still other posters with the Star of David exed out with a Swastika. There are never any posters or chants against Saddam Hussein.
"Peaceful protesters" willingly put the future of America into the hands of a foreign lawyer named Hans Blix. He is an equivocator who enjoys the limelight far more than taking his task seriously. He'll be out of a job the minute he issues a legitimate opinion.
Leftwing Liberals, Socialists, Communists, and other Leftists slavishly follow every quick-change Hollywood Liberal who makes a living pretending to be somebody else. Utter hypocrites become instant "political experts" because they portrayed a President or a soldier or a murderous male or female lead in some violence-ridden movie. Larry Elder reported in recent column: Actor-activist Mike Farrell, for example, says about Iraq, "It is inappropriate for the administration to trump up a case in which we are bal- lyhooed into war." But back in 1999, about Kosovo, Farrell said, 'I think it's appropriate for the international community in situations like this to intervene. I am in favor of an intervention." (End of quotes.)
When the socalled "Peaceful Ones" aren't denigrating President Bush as a "cowboy" and degrading America as a bully, they are even busier asking for things. They want "reparations" for black racists and more money for the social welfare state, all for their own political and/or financial benefit. They want more money for federally subsidized higher education of the witless taught by the amoral and by Leftwing political ideologues. They want more money for bug-chasers and "sensitivity training" to indoctrinate inno- cent kids with the premise that adult sexual perversions are normal. They want to de- clare more land off-limits to the public. They want people to stop eating meat. Most of all they want our tax dollars to go to them instead of toward keeping America safe.
What they are actually saying is "Tax money could be better spent and we are the ones who will dictate how you spend it." They rant that Americans who don't think as they do are Nazis or Fascists or even criminals. During their Communist-sponsored and Social- ist-sponsored "Peace Marches, Medea Benjamin preaches "Regime change begins at home." Old Ramsey Clark incites his choir of "peaceful people" to impeach President Bush. Not a word is spoken about ousting Saddam Hussein, but if Bill Clinton or Al Gore were President, they'd be backing them.
I've heard these people before. I watched one of them shriek to a large crowd of her kind in a park in Washington, D.C. back in the 1980's, when Ronald Reagan was President. "My son needs braces. My older son needs a college education" she raved. The crowd cheered wildly at her pleas for more of our tax money.
Since when are braces for teeth and a free college education the rights of every kid in America? I'll tell you since when--since the Socialist-sponsored and Communist-spon- sored "peaceful people" began telling the majority of us what we can and cannot do. We allow minority whiners to dominate our political landscape. We allow them to dictate to us, and that makes us co-conspirators in the destruction of our nation. I am more suspi- cious of Leftwing Liberals and other Leftists than I am of Saddam Hussein. They never question their own motives, but only the motives of Republicans and Independents and moderate Democrats.
During the first week of March, Hannity and Colmes (FoxNews) interviewed two male college students. They were antiwar, of course. Sean Hannity pressed them for their reasons. They mumbled the usual blather (ungrammatically) about "inspections are working" and "peace is better than war." Sean asked, "Has there ever been a righteous war?" One responded with "Well uh, the war against Nazis and Fidel Castro's revolution to free Cuba were both righteous." Is this what Liberals are teaching our college kids these days? Fidel Castro, a Communist dictator who oppresses his people is "right- eous?" Yeah, sure.
When asked, "Is Saddam Hussein evil?" one young moral relativist said "evil is not a word that passes my lips. What is evil?" The other kid finally admitted he was worried about losing his free college education. He thought the money to take down Saddam could be better spent on himself.
People who mourn, as I do, the "missing American woman of the month" feel no pain or guilt about the torture of women in Iraq, not even the "Women's Libbers." Not one of these "I want the money for myself" heeds the first person stories of murder and torture in Iraq. They do not lament the horrible lives millions of people are living under that repressive regime.
I wrote that the women of the Mideast may hold the future of their nations in their hands. Now, the women of Iraq appear to be the bravest of the brave. They are speaking out on American television to say "Free Iraq," when most Iraqi men are too afraid of reprisals to do so.
But the "Peaceful Ones" are only concerned about hypothetical "collateral damage" in Iraq. They are eager to blame America in advance, even before war begins. The possi- bility of future deaths of American service personnel, due to the weapons Saddam swears he doesn't have doesn't worry them. After all, Saddam is trustworthy. Never mind credible reports that Saddam is willing to use anthrax, VX, sarin, and other chemi- cal and biological weapons if war breaks out. The "Peaceful Ones" are more afraid of being deprived of entitlements and other forms of "gimme programs" than they are death and destruction in America.
"What if war with Saddam Hussein incites the terrorists to make reprisals?" they blather. Like terrorists will hate America less if we don't depose Saddam Hussein? Yeah, right.
I am more suspicious of self-deceivers than I am of Saddam Hussein. After all, he is a known evil, but the "Peaceful Ones" are sly, underhanded, and too easy for gullible dupes to believe.
