TAKE AMERICA BACK FROM THE SUBVERSIVE & DISLOYAL -- FROM THE ANTIWAR PROTESTERS
& THEIR SUPPORTERS, NURTURERS, INDOCTRINATORS, & INSTIGATORS
By Paul Walfield
Take Back America! It is high time that we did!
All of us have watched with disgust, and some with utter amazement, the activities of the antiwar "dissidents," the latter-day peaceniks. We have seen and heard Americans marching, protesting, and arguing against the right of America to defend herself from aggressive regimes and tyrants who possess weapons of mass destruction.
Whether it is the political Left or the socalled "Paleo-Conservatives," their message is the same. America cannot remain a superpower. America needs to be brought down a notch.
The media, the universities, and the Liberal think tanks proclaim that those in the world who wish us harm, those countries whose interests it would serve to see America no longer a leader, are correct and should be heeded.
It has been exposed by various investigative reporters and some websites, most notably FrontPage Magazine, that the people behind the "peace" movement are Communist organizations and Anarchical groups who want an end to America as we know it. While many who show up at the rallies are no doubt oblivious to who the organizers are and would probably say they are against "them," that is irrelevant.
The protests are not against a far off war in Southeast Asia to protect people who are not American, or over whether or not buying grapes is a good idea. The protests are against America. The writers, journalists, pundits, celebrities, university professors, students, and organizations that claim their right of free speech allows them to speak out, are cor- rect. However, there is no right against being criticized or shunned for being an enemy of the state, which is what they really are.
Whether it is some teenager who is living the good life in the heartland who feels a need to turn her back on the American flag when the national anthem is played, or it is the Anarchist in San Francisco with a trunk load of Molotov cocktails, or a self-proclaimed Paleo-Conservative explaining why America has no right to intervene overseas, the result of their "dissent," if effective and heeded, is the same--the beginning of the end of America as she is.
These wartime "dissenters" are diverse groups--on the surface. Some of them, osten- sibly are opposites. But just on the surface. Their message is the same and will lead to the same result.
It really doesn't matter what someone proclaims is their motive. It doesn't matter that someone has a right to dissent. What matters is what happens if their protestations are effective and heeded. They know what will happen. So should all of us.
On March 15, 2003, in San Francisco a banner was raised during a protest march. The banner read, "We Support Our Troops When They Shoot Their Officers." A few days ago, a soldier rolled three hand grenades into his officers' tent while his superiors slept. Captain Christopher Scott Seifert, who lived for only a few hours after the blast, was 27 when he died. Major Gregory Stone, who lived for a few days, was 40 years old. There are thirteen others who survived, but will never ever be the same again.
Our soldiers' deaths are not called for by Americans. They are called for by our ene- mies. No matter what their expressed or ostensible motives may be, the people who wish our warriors dead, when they declare their right to express themselves comes from the U.S. Constitution, need to have that citizenship revoked. There is a difference be- tween the right of free speech and the calling for the death of American soldiers, in effect calling for the violent overthrow of America's government.
We have former generals on cable news shows declaring that the lives of the enemy on the battlefield are to be valued the same as American lives. We have college professors teaching American students that their country is a racist and evil empire. We have pun- dits telling us that those things are good. "Diversity and self-examination is good for America." That may be true in the abstract, but like Communism, it doesn't work in the real world.
Because of the takeover of our institutions, whether educational institutions or some governmental bodies, we have an America that is seething and looking to foreign nations for direction and blessings. That is insane. America is and has remained great because, up to the last few decades, we did as George Washington told us to do: "Put none but Americans on guard." Unfortunately, no American has been "guarding" our universi- ties, media, or our backs for decades now.
Americans believe in the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and all that those docu- ments and the rules of law portend. Diverse ideas, especially those that may be out- rageous, are welcome. It is a fact of life that America is great because of the freedoms we all enjoy.
As U.S. Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson said, "The Bill of Rights is not a suicide pact." When protesting and dissent are targeting the fundamental right of America to defend itself against enemies that wish her demise, criticizing and condemning that form of dissent cannot be considered taboo. Rather, it must be considered our right and duty.
We need to take back America from those who are trying to take it away from us. We need to hard look at Americans who espouse the ideology of our enemy, or an ideology of their own which will have the effect of serving the interests and purposes of the ene- my, and call those particular Americans what they really are--namely, subversives and traitors. Americans who, because of their contorted reasoning and bizarre ideological orientations, want America reshaped in an image that will undermine her ability to de- fend herself against aggressors and tyrants, should be accurately identified and placed in their true category--persons and groups that are in sympathy with the enemy and disloy- al to the U.S.A., i.e., subversives and traitors.
We need to take America back. We need to take back America from the subversive and disloyal elements within our midst.
