LEFTISTS PUKING FOR PEACE: CRUDE & DISGUSTING TACTICS
OF LIBERAL LEFTIST ANTIWAR PROTESTERS
By Paul Walfield
On March 20, 2003, the San Francisco Chronicle reported the latest fad in peace pro- testing, the "vomit-in." No kidding. Hundreds of America's leading intellectuals on foreign affairs and terrorism gathered at the Federal Building on Golden Gate Avenue and blocked its entrances with their bodies and undigested breakfasts.
The brave dissenters to America's military action to remove a mass murderer from pow- er in Iraq showed an even greater solidarity with the Iraqi despot by exhibiting their own brand of chemical and biological attack, using digestive juices mixed with half eaten tofu omelets, French Toast, and Belgian waffles to hold off San Francisco's finest who, ill equipped to guard against biological attacks, were driven back again and again.
The regurgitations of a few for peace, along with the flying of the Iraqi flag, were meant to wake Americans up to the evil that "imperialistic America" has become. By resorting to the use of military force when it comes to facing threats to American sovereignty and safety, America makes those folks sick to their stomachs. According to the protesters, flying the Iraqi flag while American soldiers are fighting and risking their lives in the Iraqi desert is an exercise of the right of free speech, as well as an exercise in American patriotism.
When it comes to protesting, the vast differences between expressing disapproval of America's right to protect itself and its citizens, as opposed to simply protesting some government policy, get lost inside the craniums of the political Left's elitist intellectuals. However, for San Francisco's Liberal Leftist elite, the taking of tiny blue pills, even the kind that makes you upchuck, is a cause to celebrate the oneness of us all and the prop- osition that, even if the taking of drugs makes you puke, it can still be a rush if, while you indulge, you can trample on the American flag and on federal workers' rights.
Apparently, the political Left's ability to get across their notion of what is good for Amer- ica was, in this instance, rather limited. While the Leftists were indulging themselves and seeking to draw attention to their cause, their notion of what is good for America was not being accepted by nearly 8 out of 10 Americans.
America was hell bent on taking out an evil dictator that threatened America with chem- ical and biological weapons and would eventually do so with nuclear weapons. The Left was left in a quandary, and the worst kind of all. America's actions, if allowed to contin- ue, would lead to greater sovereignty, standing, power, and, heaven forbid, nationalism.
The Left's hopes of an easy win (i.e., a defeat for America) at the United Nations were dashed by a side step and reversal by U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. He was obviously brainwashed, threatened, or paid off by Dick Cheney. There was no way that Mr. Powell loved his country above his citizenship to the world.
The Left also had the problem of the unlikelihood of Saddam Hussein beating the United States of America. The Leftists knew Saddam had chemical and biological weapons, but, darn those Republicans, they had authorized the money to buy protective suits for the military.
America was in Iraq and the Left's greatest nightmare was coming true. America was not slaughtering the Iraqi children in their beds, and America was going to allow the Iraqi people to keep their own oil wells for themselves.
This Republican treachery has to stop.
The political Left needed to make a statement, an unmistakable statement telling the world what they were about and what America and American ideals meant to them. In order to make this statement, they needed to vomit publicly. And so they did.
After careful and lengthy discussions, the Left, the future professors of colleges and ivy league universities all across this great land of ours, decided that the way to change the course America is taking--the way to show the world how bright they were--was to puke in the front of a government office building, to publicly puke for for peace.
Puking for peace is not an original idea, since Victoria Secret models do it all the time, even when there is no war, whether looming or real. However, puking for peace is an activity that cannot be ignored. While it is easily cleaned up after a demonstration, it tends to leave a bit of itself long after people have been chased off or arrested. The tactic is bound to catch on among everyone who has virtually nothing to say, but cannot be persuaded by facts, logic, or reality.
The Liberal Leftists, or "Progressives," are folks who tend to see differences among different people as generally quantitative, rather than qualitative, meaning that, with the right education, upbringing and opportunities, differences among human beings will dis- appear and all that will be left are opinions which, if challenged, remain or change de- pending upon the facts offered. The idea that. in the 21st century, the "Progressives" are vomiting, intentionally and publicly, as an expression of their First Amendment right of free speech to protest American foreign policy creates a whole new category of differences.
